In the Anime Death Note, Naomi Misora is a former FBI agent and the fiancée of agent Raye Penber, she was originally going to be more of a major character, but Ohba(Tsugumi Ohba is the writer and creator of Death Note) had to kill her off quickly as it was felt she'd complicate the story by being too smart and figuring things out fast.
